New Porsche digital venture invests in parking app

July 07, 2016

Porsche’s newly-created digital business has made its first investment by taking a stake in start-up parking solution specialist Evopark. Evopark aims to change parking in urban areas by scrapping paper tickets, with drivers instead using parking cards and paying fees on a monthly basis. The service links to an app which shows where parking is available and currently covers 16 German cities. Evopark research indicates that searching for a parking spot accounts for nearly 30% of inner-city driving. Porsche Digital has been created to help the firm focus on emerging product areas, particularly connectivity, smart mobility and autonomous vehicles.
