BMW breaks sales records

Global sales at the BMW Group have set a new half-year record.

Deliveries were up 5.8% for H1 2016 compared to the same period last year, with a total of 1,163,139 vehicles sold.

BMW sales were up 5.8% to 986,557, with electric vehicles accounting for 4% of vehicles sold. A total of 174,898 Minis were sold, up 5.4% year-on-year.

In Europe, BMW and MINI reached a new record, totalling 542,851 units, a rise of 11.2%.
