Audi sales rise 5.6% in H1 2016

July 12, 2016

Sales of Audi models have grown in every major market in the first six months of 2016.

A total of 953,200 vehicles were delivered in the first six months of the year, up 5.6% on the same period last year. Sales in Germany were up 12.4% (166,154), UK up 4.1% (89,935), France up 6.5% (32,631), Italy up 14.6% (32,124) and Spain up 14.5% (28,803).

Deliveries were also up 3.5% in the US, despite the disruption facing the brand after it was implicated in the Dieselgate scandal affecting some Volkswagen Group diesel engines, which prosecutors said had been fitted with a ‘defeat device’ which cheated emissions tests to hide the real levels of pollution from some cars.
